Peter Deuter, Ross Wright, Jerry Lovatt, Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries, Queensland, and Andrew Watson, New South Wales Department of Primary Industries.

Introduction

The following disease information is an output of the Improved IPM systems in the Australian sweet corn industry (VG05035). This project aims to improve Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems currently used in the Australian sweet corn industry to manage a range of 'secondary pests,' whilst maintaining or improving heliothis management. Further sweet corn information is available on the sweet corn home page.

Results

The following table lists commercial sweet corn varieties available in Australia, and their reaction to turcicum (northern) leaf blight (Exserohilum turcicum) and common rust (Puccinia sorghi).
