Animal welfare - introduction to the animals in circuses code

Circus code of practiceThe Queensland Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals in Circuses (the Code) has been adopted by regulation under the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 (PDF download PDF 710 kB).  The Code details minimum animal welfare standards and compliance with the Code is mandatory.

These standards encompass all areas of circus animal care including transportation, housing, exhibition, husbandry and training and are endorsed by the Circus Federation of Australasia.
