Commercial olfactometry service

Need odour measurements conducted at a competitive rate?

DPI&F's intensive livestock environmental management officers provide a complete odour measurement service*.

With our fully equipped Olfactometer we can determine the odour concentration of any air sample.

* The service does not include interpretation of the odour measurement results.

Additional air quality evaluation

By request, we can also evaluate other odour parameters, such as hedonic tone and intensity.

All services quality assured

All aspects of our service meet the performance quality requirements outlined in the Australian / New Zealand Standard - 'Stationary Source Emissions - Determination of Odour Concentration by Dynamic Olfactometry' (AS/NZS 4323.3).

We offer a fully air-conditioned laboratory which is maintained in an odour-free state; all components in the Olfactometer are constructed from stainless steel and teflon and meet the performance requirements under the Standard; all air quality assessors (panellists) are selected on their ability to smell a reference gas, and undergo rigorous testing before inclusion in the panel.

For more information about DPI&F's Olfactometer visit our Air Quality Laboratory web pages. You will find comprehensive information on design, how the Olfactometer meets the Australian/New Zealand Standard, and panellists.
